how_to_play.md

Walk in. Press E. Ship something.

Somebody launched great_toly.exe. Runtime City — a fictional Solana simulation — is drowning in broken scripts, spam bots and abandoned missions, and a green voxel guide named Toly has picked you to fix it. You arrive as an unknown builder with an empty inventory. Reconnect three districts, recover their fragments, run the final program. To enter, connect Phantom or Solflare — or the Demo Wallet if you have no extension. Connecting only shares a public address; nothing is signed or sent.

requirements: desktop or laptop browser with WebGL2, keyboard and mouse. Touch controls are not supported yet.

The three districts

Validator Foundry

Compute Fragment

Restart a failing validator tower with Coach Clock, who counts everything in slots and milliseconds and is secretly proud of you. Builds Compute. Missions: Wake the Sleeping Node, Hit the Timing Window, Survive the Spam Wave, Clear the Packet Queue, Synchronize the Tower, and Recover the Compute Fragment.

Builder Underground

Signal Fragment

Bring a scattered builder crew together for one successful launch, with Patch — the maintainer everyone forgets to thank. Builds Signal. Missions: Remember the Launch Order, Find the Missing Maintainer, Fix the Demo Before Doors Open, Decode the Group Chat, Host the Midnight Ship, and Recover the Signal Fragment.

Entropy Arcade

Entropy Fragment

Escape a corrupted probability engine with The Debugger, who explains the odds honestly and reminds you the house edge is real. Builds Nerve. Missions: Read the Odds, Beat the Distraction Loop, Know When to Exit, Enter the Restricted Room, Face the Final Table, and Recover the Entropy Fragment.

Each district also hides a mission or two for builders who keep talking to people.

Inside the districts

Walking in

Every district is a place you enter, not a menu you open. Press E at the beacon and the door takes you inside.

The guide

Coach Clock, Patch and The Debugger stand in their own rooms. Talking to one of them opens that district’s mission list.

The station

Everything is played where it happens — at the Power Coupler, behind the Merge Counter, at the arcade table. The camera dollies in and the controls dock to the bottom of the screen.

The room keeps going

Builders keep moving, lights keep pulsing and the chat keeps scrolling while you play. Only you are held still.

Walking out

Press E at the interior door and you step back onto the street, outside the door you came in by.

Validator Foundry

Seven stations, all reached the same way: walk up, press E. Free play pays Runtime Credits and nothing else — Compute comes from missions and from the Tower Sync Open.

Power Coupler

no gate

The timing window, with a load to pick. Heavier loads narrow the window and pay more.

Load Stack

Compute 12

The stack gets heavier every lift and one failure ends the set. Bank it while you are ahead — this is the Foundry’s press-your-luck.

Relay Circuit

no gate

Four stations, one clock, and the clock keeps running while you walk between them.

Packet Bag

no gate

A combo is called, then you throw it on the beat. Miss the rhythm and the chain drops.

Flywheel

no gate

Hold the rate the coach calls. Drift out of the band and the split time collapses.

Spam Ring

Compute 18

Bots telegraph, you guard or counter. The tells are fixed and personality-specific — learn them and you stop getting caught.

Tower Sync Open

Compute 20

An entry fee in Runtime Credits, a field of eight and a purse for the top three. The board rotates on a fixed schedule.

Builder Underground

The people are the point. Talking well raises your standing with somebody; standing is what makes them ask you for a favour; doing a favour is how you meet the next person. Some builders are only reachable by introduction.

Merge Counter

no gate

Watch the launch order, remember it, serve it. A clean shift tips better.

Standup Booths

no gate

Talk. Read their mood off their posture, pick the right register, build standing. Wrong register costs you.

Demo Stage

no gate

Four lanes, one house set. Accuracy pays and the streak pays more.

Bug Darts

no gate

501 down against somebody who plays here often. Lock the bed, then lock the depth.

Dependency Pool

no gate

Angle and power, best of three frames.

Hosting the Ship

Signal 24

Seat them, take the order, run the drinks, clear the table. Four things are due at once and you can only be in one place.

A favour left hanging goes quiet and the person cools off — temporarily, always. Walk back over, talk to them, and it is on the table again. Your standing with everybody is in the pause menu under Standing, and it goes on your completion record.

Entropy Arcade

A whole floor of games of chance, played with in-game arcade credits only — no tokens, no real money, no deposits, no cash-outs. Walk up to a table, press E, agree a buy-in and sit down. Press Escape to fold and stand up. Good decisions manage risk; nothing guarantees a win.

Slot wall

no gate

Three cabinets, five reels, ten fixed lines. Each one prints its real return to player on the marquee — 94 to 95 percent, computed from the reels themselves.

War

no gate

One card each. A tie asks the only question in the game: surrender half, or match your bet and go to war.

Video poker

no gate

Jacks or Better, nine-six. Five coins unlocks the royal bonus, which is the only reason to play five.

Blackjack

Nerve 10

Six-deck shoe, dealer stands on soft seventeen, blackjack pays three to two. Split to four hands, double after split.

Three card poker

Nerve 20

Ante and play, with Pair Plus on the side. The dealer needs queen high to play their hand.

Baccarat

Nerve 20

Punto banco with the full third-card table. Banker wins pay after five percent commission.

Hold'em

Nerve 30

Six-max no-limit. Blinds, a moving button, side pots and a showdown — against opponents who each play their own way.

The Restricted Room

Nerve 45

High-limit blackjack and the final table. The rope comes down when the floor decides you belong on the other side of it.

Table limits rise with Nerve. Free play moves Runtime Credits and nothing else — no stats, no reputation, no fragments — in every district, and each one closes you out once you are far enough ahead for one night.

Spending Runtime Credits

The Validator Foundry has an equipment counter and the Builder Underground has a cosmetics machine. Equipment helps in those two districts by at most eight percent — a slightly wider window, a little more grace on a combo — and nothing you buy touches an arcade outcome, a paytable, a shuffle or an opponent’s decision.

Progression

Compute, Signal and Nerve come from their own districts. Reputation connects everything and rewards a balanced build. Runtime Credits (RC) come from missions and from dropped packets lying around the streets; they never leave the browser and never become a token.

Fragments and Execute Greatness

Finishing a district storyline recovers its fragment: the Compute Fragment, the Signal Fragment and the Entropy Fragment. Hold all three and Execute Greatness unlocks on the Validator Foundry mission board.

Execute Greatness is one clock across five legs: restore power at the Validator Foundry, coordinate the crew in the Builder Underground, stabilize the Entropy Arcade, return to Toly’s terminal, and execute great_toly.exe. Fail a leg and you keep everything — just run it again. Finish and you get a completion record, stored in this browser (and your account’s cloud save if signed in). It is not onchain. Replay any time.

$GtolyEXE is separate

$GtolyEXE has nothing to do with how the game plays. Owning tokens never completes missions, grants fragments or changes any odds. Token claims are not available. Connecting a wallet is required to enter, and it is identity only — nothing is signed or sent. The Demo Wallet uses a simulated address that is not a real account.

Fan-made browser adventure. No transaction is ever sent. The Entropy Arcade uses in-game arcade credits only.
